Ramona's Creamy Butter Chicken

Traditionally known as Murgh makhani, this recipe is a delightful creamy version of this curry dish, made from chicken with spices and butter, yoghurt and fresh cream sauce.


  • 600g Chopped Chicken Fillet
  • 2 tsp chilli powder
  • 2 tsp dhania/jeera powder
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp freshly ground ginger/garlic paste
  • ½ cup plain yoghurt
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 4 Tbsp butter
  • Dash of oil
  • 175 ml Fresh Cream
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • Chopped Coriander (Garnish)


  • Marinate 600g chopped chicken fillet with 2tsp chilli powder, 2tsp dhania/jeera powder, 1tsp garam masala, half tsp turmeric powder, half tsp paprika, 1 tbsp freshly ground ginger/garlic paste and half cup plain yoghurt..
  • Fry 1 chopped onion in 4tbsp of butter and a dash of oil until golden brown.
  • Add marinated chicken and allow to cook for 5-7mins until oil surfaces.
  • Add 175ml of fresh cream, salt and pepper to taste and cook until the sauce is to your preference.

  • Garnish with chopped coriander and serve with roti/naan. .
