Ramona's Butter Chicken

Butter Chicken is a good old favourite ..
I’m not a fan of the ‘tomatoey’ version.. I prefer it more creamy.


  • 600g Chopped Chicken Fillet
  • 2 tsp chilli powder
  • 2 tsp dhania/jeera powder
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp freshly ground ginger/garlic paste
  • ½ cup plain yoghurt
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 4 Tbsp butter
  • Dash of oil
  • 175 ml Fresh Cream
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • Chopped Coriander (Garnish)


Marinate 600g chopped chicken fillet with 2tsp chilli powder, 2tsp dhania/jeera powder, 1tsp garam masala, half tsp turmeric powder, half tsp paprika, 1 tbsp freshly ground ginger/garlic paste and half cup plain yoghurt..
Fry 1 chopped onion in 4tbsp of butter and a dash of oil until golden brown.
Add marinated chicken and allow to cook for 5-7mins until oil surfaces.
Add 175ml of fresh cream, salt and pepper to taste and cook until the sauce is to your preference.
Garnish with chopped coriander and serve with roti/naan. .
